Web-Based Malware Infections Rise Rapidly

More than 640,000 Web sites and about 5.8 million pages are infected with malware, according to Dasient, which was founded by former Googlers to offer services to help Web sites stay malware-free and off blacklists.

If you think about it in such terms it does seem like A LOT, but if you compare that with how many websites that actually exist then that’s a pretty small percentage that are infected. According to Netcraft Data as of January 2009, 185 millions websites exist. In a 10 months period nowadays that 185 millions have probably expanded to 200 million websites. That’s only .32% of infected websites.

This was interesting
